"Here & Now" Road Sign with dramatic clouds and sky. This is one of the greatest times in our history for being creative.  Because of the economy, global warming and much more we are learning to be creative in ways we never thought.  Creativity in looking for employment, in keeping our jobs, in purchasing and preparing food, in planning our trips and cutting down on items we once considered necessary.

Much of what we’re discovering about ourselves is refreshing and enlightening.  We’re embracing our spirituality and seeking answers to questions that help us understand.  We’re taking responsibility for ourselves and finally believing that what we see in our world is a reflection of how we think.

We’re learning to share, love, laugh, and enjoy life in spite of the turmoil that swirls around us.  We’ve decided it’s up to us to save ourselves, we are our own bailout!

Day 44  Make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore us to our greatness.

j0439318What is purpose?  This is the time of year when many of us ponder “what is our purpose?”  We look at where we are this year as compared to last and find that much of what we didn’t want is still here and much of what we said we wanted is still not present.  Could it be that we think we’re doing one thing and discover we’re just continuing old habits expecting different results?

Dictionary.com defines purpose thusly,

1.       the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.
2. an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal.
3. determination; resoluteness.
4. the subject in hand; the point at issue.
5. practical result, effect, or advantage: to act to good purpose.

We started our 45 Day Challenge with the question “who are you really”.  Why are you here, what have you done this year that added value for you and others and what will you do differently next year?  Using the definitions above, or make your own, determine how you’re doing on this challenge and in unveiling your purpose.

Day 43 do always as much as you can, in the way you can, in order to leave your community more beautiful and beneficial than you inherited it.

Time business concept.Business builders, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, mompreneurs, sistapreneurs and the lists are endless.  Your clock watching days are over!  You’ve joined the ranks of people creating their own destiny, creating their own jobs and doing it their way.  You’re quickly discovering that time has no ‘hold’ on you.  Being our own boss requires making a decision and following through.

Are you the type of person who takes charge?

Opening your own business can be very scary even though you know who you are and the business you’ve opened.  When the doors open it’s all on your shoulders.  How many clients do you need, how many hours will you work, how will you compensate yourself and how will you market?  These are all very good questions and there are many more.

You will hear talk about the freedom of business ownership.  There is freedom to be sure and and tons of joy.  The joy and freedom in business ownership lies in knowing you caused it!

Day 42  Build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.

While building a life for ourselves it’s important to remember to help someone.  Too often we are so occupied with our needs, our lack that we fail to see the abundance in our life.  Abundance is not merely money.  It is health, happiness, clean water, safe environment, family, friends and the list goes on.

Residential district with chimneysNow just imagine what would happen in our neighborhood, our community, our nation and the world if we were to stop seeing lack and see abundance.  Imagine safety, clean water, happiness, health and so much more for everyone.  When we make a conscious effort to make our brothers’ and sisters’ problems our own, when we feel their pain then with a collective consciousness we can bring about change.

Collectively focusing on abundance we can build a better community and working together we can solve problems.

When you think about ‘who are you really’, be sure to reflect on how your being impacts your family, community and the world.

Day 41 Build and maintain our community together and make our brother’s and sister’s problems our problems and to solve them together.
