It’s time to spring clean your mind boomer women!

Boomer women are you looking into your closets and around your house with a feeling of “it’s time to get rid of or do something”.  This usually happens as it gets closer to spring.  This feeling of restlessness can cause you to do full clean out or wait until the feeling passes.

This is also a great time boomer women to not only looking at your physical surroundings but your mental as well.  Looking at your mental can cause you to reevaluate, reframe and rethink your core values.  This introspection can be very uncomfortable because you can discover some places where you’re out of alignment.  Once you’ve made that discovery and now that it is at the forefront of your mind, you have some choices.  You get to choose to make some changes or ignore your discovery.

Boomer women you may discover that making changes with only you in mind is not easy.  You’ve practiced being unselfish for so very long!  You’ve agreed with and bought into the ‘culture’ that “it’s better to give than to receive”.  So you’ve given and given until you now realize that you’re out of alignment and giving at this time is hurting you.

Let your family know that you will be making some changes in your life and how you do things.  Ask for their support in your changes and begin!

Be gentle with yourself, start slowly, and give yourself permission to make one small change.

The change can be as simple as saying no to babysitting the grandchildren.  Of course this can cause a HUGH ruckus if you allow it.  Remember, your love ones have never seen you this way.  They get to choose to be accepting of your changes or not.

You are not responsible for their feelings.  Nor are they responsible for yours.

This is your gift to you!

Wednesday’s Inspirational Thought

Your view of the world, how you see your world, is essentially limited by your beliefs, attitudes and habits.  Boomer women, it doesn’t matter how often you wish that your life were different.  Your previous conditioning affects how you receive new information for changing your life.

Today, each time something, a thought, an act, a word comes up, ask yourself “is there another way to see this”, “what filters am I using”, and “wouldn’t it be nice if I could see this differently”.  Notice and note your results (feelings, attitudes and actions).

Boomer women are you catching the wind?

I’ve been paying more attention to the birds lately.  I notice how they flap their wings for about 15 seconds, then catch the wind currents and float easily, effortlessly and endlessly.  The birds just seem to know that all is well and they are provided all they need.  It’s such a beautiful thing to watch.

Watching the birds remind me of a two year old.  She never once thinks that she can’t have whatever she wants, she moves effortlessly as if on a wind current surveying everyone and everything.  She has no doubt that her needs will be met easily and effortlessly.  She’s confident that all will be provided.

When did you lose that confidence boomer woman?  If your wings are your thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and actions are you flapping them to catch the wind currents?  OR are you so stuck in the old belief system and old way of being that you don’t feel the wind?  AND if you feel the wind are you afraid to let go?

What would be different in your life if you recapture that confidence of a two year old and surrender and KNOW that all is well no matter what?  To have the unshakable belief that you are provided all you need.

Wouldn’t it be beautiful to live in a space that you easily and effortlessly go with the flow, no resistance, no pain and no force?  Are you ready and willing to do this?

Boomer women you like Alice have choices!

Alice can’t seem to stay out of trouble.  Having been sent on an errand by the rabbit she drinks from an unmarked bottle and grows to a giant size.  A size so large she can’t get out of the room or the house.  The rabbit comes home to discover he can’t get into his room.  After trying several times he asks for help.  All the animals come to help the rabbit and finally they throw small pebbles/cakes into the room.  Curious Alice eats the cakes until she shrinks enough to escape.

I like Alice can’t seem to stay out of trouble.  Being a boomer woman my trouble happens with my self talk.  When I’m talking positive and affirming I can see myself growing large, making plans and following through.  My plans are unfolding nicely when something comes along that looks and smells delicious so I take a bite out of it.  Even though it was delicious, it was not in alignment with my plans.  So do I ask for help like the rabbit or like a shrinking Alice, I have the choice to run away, discard my plans, and see what else is available.

Boomer women the beauty of Alice in Wonderland is that no matter what you choose, you can always make another choice.  Choice is always available, seeing the choices allow boomer women to ask for help, change in a minute, stick with something and/or embrace new and exciting adventures daily.  To embrace the idea that boomer women have the power to create your life just the way you desire and dream about simply by being open to and utilizing the power of choice is empowering.

Today boomer women, whatever issues arise, ask yourself, what choices do I have available to me right now.  Then choose the one that ‘fits’ in that moment.  Being empowered boomer women lifts the burden of having to be ‘right’ because you know you can always choose something different.
